"Dreaming in the Train"

 

Postmodern version of Turner’s Rain, Steam and Speed, Dreaming in the Train questions our relationship with image and illusion while travelling on the train. Alter egos, doubled landscapes, deformed silhouettes are ways in which the reality is inscribed thanks to the random commotion of time with speed and light. The window becomes a looking glass that reverses the logic of the outside and of the inside. Random and chaotic resonances open a door to narration and imagination, challenging our interpretation of who the travellers are or could be. A postmodern train inhabited with clones and avatars for which Wong Kar Wai’s 2046 was an inspiration.
